I am a four-year-old hound mix. You may think of me as a silly, fun-loving, and quirky boy based on my name. If you are, you would be right! I love to play and enjoy spending time with people. I am gentle and laid back and would make a great companion for people of all ages. Seriously though, I have been in the shelter system for too long. Meet our stunning Basset Hound mix named Angel. She has an angular limb deformity and an overbite, but that adds to her cuteness! Angel came to us last year, and we were sure she would get adopted quickly because of her loving nature towards people and short stature.

Angel does not get too much interest at the shelter. We hope to find someone or someplace where she will be loved and cared for as she deserves. Angel is exceptionally loving towards people of all ages.

This heartbreaker is a 10-year-old terrier mix weighing roughly 50lbs. Pretzel came to us when her owner had to move into an assisted living facility and was no longer able to care for her. Understandably, she was confused in the shelter and missing her home life, so she is currently taking a shelter break with one of our fantastic fosters. Here's what Pretzel's foster has to say about her: "Pretzel is great! She has been following me around my apartment since we got back from the shelter. She takes turns between lying on the couch, rug, or armchair, and sits next to me on the couch. When I cook dinner she comes into the kitchen and sits on a blanket and watches me. She’s been smiling and panting the whole time she’s here and was willing to play if I got her excited."

Puppy brothers Ganba and Tora are survivors! They came into rescue wasted away and full of scars, with barely enough energy to stand ~ but now they are thriving! ❣️Ganba and Tora are about 4 months old, and from day one, despite their neglect, they have had loving and affectionate personalities. They are smart and look to their people for guidance, these boys are eager to please and ready to steal your heart. 🤗

The stress of being at the rescue is taking its toll on Willow. It’s heart wrenching to watch her panicked, bouncing off of her kennel walls because she’s surrounded by her most major stressor (other dogs) day after day.

We try to give her as many breaks in our basement as possible but although breaks are better than nothing, they cannot compare to being in a foster home.

Things haven't always been so easy for five-year-old Dottie. After being found in an apartment all by herself, she is happy to be with her friends at HRA! She has quickly won over the hearts of staff and volunteers with her chirping hellos and love of all things pets. She may be a bit shy when she initially meets you, but with some patience and help from her favorite treats, she will be your best friend in no time!
